Enuresis or bedwetting is a disorder of which the exact cause is unknown. Many children wet the bed until they are 5 years old or even older.
Causes. A child's bladder might be too small. It may also happen when the amount of urine produced overnight is larger than the bladder can hold.
Some children sleep too deeply or take longer to learn to control their bladders. You should not punish children for bedwetting; they don’t do it on purpose and most outgrow it. Until then, make sure your child uses the bathroom just before going to bed. If they still wet themselves either during the day or during night after the age of 5, your child should see a doctor before the age of 7.
