Brushing

  1. Clean the inside and outside surfaces of the teeth with vertical movements, tilting the brush against the gum line and sliding it forward, with slight pressure. The inner part of the tooth, which is more important, is often neglected.
  2. Brush the surfaces of each tooth using short backward movements. Rub the teeth in a circular motion to remove any bits of food.
  3. Use dental floss to remove any remaining food that is between the teeth, flossing the interdental space. Follow the curves of the teeth, gently sliding the floss up and down to the gum without damaging it.
  4. Brush your tongue gently to help remove bacteria and keep breath fresh.
  5. Rinsing with mouthwash reinforces cleaning.
