Hyperopia occurs when the eye ball is too short to make light rays focus on the retina, converging behind it.
Risk factors. Most children are farsighted by nature (until the eye grows), but they do not experience symptoms of blurred vision because their eyes are able to focus light rays and place them directly on the retina.
Symptoms. Typically far-sighted people can see distant objects clearly but those that are close appear blurry (the opposite of myopia).
