Food allergies

Any food can cause an allergic reaction, but the most common that cause the most severe reactions are milk and dairy products, eggs, fruit, nuts, peanuts, soy, fish and shellfish.

The fact that certain foods produce allergic reactions more often than others is directly related to the age and the nutritional habits of the people affected. For example, in Spain, milk, eggs and fish are foods that cause major allergic reactions in children under five, while fruit, nuts, fish, shellfish and egg cause allergies in adults.

Moreover, in the United States, the vast majority of food allergy reactions are related to peanuts, and in the Scandinavian countries they are related to fish.
