Herpes is a viral infectious inflammatory disease, characterized by the appearance of skin lesions that consist of small vesicles grouped in clusters and surrounded by a red halo.
It affects the face, lips, mouth and upper body. The type II (HSV-2) is more common in the genital area and lower body.
Prevention. Caution in sexual relations, use of condoms. You should avoid contact with open wounds and they should never be touched with your hands to prevent spreading the infection.
Treatment. Keep the infected area clean and do not touch the lesions, wash hands thoroughly. Antivirals in severe or risky cases.
