At the top, we see a normal or common mole. They are not cancerous.
At the bottom, the "ABCDE" system describes the melanoma at an early stage:
- Asymmetry: the shape of one half is not equal to the other.
- Border is irregular: notched or blurred on its edge.
- Colour is not uniform: may have shades of black, brown and tan. There can also be white, grey, red, pink or blue areas.
- Diameter. A change in the size, generally an increase. Melanomas may be small, but there are also larger ones.
- Evolution. It has changed in recent weeks or months.
