The tapeworm worm is a disease caused by the flat intestinal parasite Taenia, which is hosted in the small intestine of humans and animals.
These hermaphrodite worms can measure up to 2 to 4 feet in length. Its main feature is that once housed inside the intestine it feeds on the nutrients from its host, causing serious health problems.
You should wash your hands after handling raw meat, avoid eating beef or raw or undercooked pork and be very careful if you come into contact with the faeces of an infected person.
Symptoms. It causes diarrhoea, nausea, weight loss, abdominal pain or an excessive increase in appetite.
