Stress is a physical and emotional reaction to extreme situations that starts when a person perceives that a situation or event is threatening or overwhelming his resources. Often what sparks stress are things that are those related to changes, they require the person to overexert himself and thus endanger his personal welfare.
Symptoms. The most characteristic signs of stress are nervousness, irritability, confusion, difficulty concentrating, repetitive thoughts, excessive criticism, forgetfulness, concern for the future. All are accompanied by physical changes (muscle spasms, headache, upset stomach, fatigue, palpitations and rapid breathing) and an increase in consumption of alcohol, tobacco.
